DID YOU KNOW....
The Evans City Park Authority consists of several year-round volunteers who manage and raise funds for our small town park & pool. We have a small season staff and are always looking for friendly faces to employ in the summer.
Evans City Park Authority 204-B S. Jackson St., Evans City, PA 16033 Summer tel: 724-538-8920 e-mail: info@edcopark.comThe Park Authority meets every 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00pm at EDCO Park, April-Sept (weather permitting)/Community Room in the Library Building, Oct-March.
WHAT DOES EDCO MEAN? We get our name from the property that was a playning mill and lumber yard owned by the Edward Dambach Company. The Dambachs donated the land and funds to help create a community park.
WHERE DOES EDCO GET FUNDING? The Evans City Park Authority is a self-supporting government run entity (business), created by the Evans City Council to oversee the building and operations of the park and pool. However, unlike traditional government Authorities such as “water & sewer” or “transit”, our Park Authority does not have a stable revenue base or receive any tax money to rely upon to maintain and update programs or amenities.
WHEN DID THE POOL OPEN? Construction began in the early 80's and the pool and park opened August 1, 1987.
WHAT DOES EDCO OFFER OUR COMMUNITY? Our mission is to provide safe, fun activities for everyone in our community and surrounding neighborhoods. These include daily summer swimming, private and group swim lessons, swim camp, water aerobics, Senior water aerobics, lap swims, birthday party packages, movies, playground, basketball court, volleyball court, horseshoes, tetherball, shuffle board and pavilion rentals for BBQs/events.
WHAT DOES EDCO MEAN TO YOU & YOUR FAMILY? The Park adds value to our community and to our individual property. It gives our children a place to play and swim. It gives our family a place to relax. And it builds community among our residents and neighbors.
